Timing Belt Replacement

Most timing belts are hidden behind a protective metal or plastic cover which requires removal for inspection or replacement of the belt; this is why engine manufacturers recommend replacement at specific intervals. The manufacturer may also recommend the replacement of other parts, such as a water pump or belt tensioner when the belt is replaced. The additional costs to replace these components are usually minimal compared to the cost of replacement at a later time.

In an interference engine, or one whose valves extend into the path of the piston, failure of the timing belt can result in a costly repair. Engine damage may occur as some valves will remain extended causing a catastrophic collision between the valves and pistons.

At Faith Works Automotive our technicians are trained to take extreme care and ensure that the valve and piston movements are correctly synchronized.  We take the time to inspect the other components in the system, and make proper recommendations in order to assure the longevity of your investment.

Warning: Failure to properly install a timing belt can result in complete breakdown or catastrophic engine failure. Make sure only an experienced Faith Works Automotive technician services your car today!
